hi any one out there no where i could get my tiga fixed it may be a swich problem.Dark nights not far away i want to be ready for them.also is there a beter light on the market out there?

why dont u go down to dunnes or any hardware store and buy a new energizer headlight.for 7 euros they are top quality.u get 3 free batts with them 2.there comfortable.there is plenty people on here now with them as they have good reviews.i wouldnt bother sending that away to be fixed.the hassle

thanks, I have an energiser as a back up head lamp and find it quiet good for the money, but there really is no comparision to the quality of light between the 2.

silva alpha is rediculous if you have the cash, stupid bright speleo nova is my baby and is the fishing light ive ever used, led lenser is really good for the cash. the tiga is good but the battery pack is off putting

Have to agree with the lads have used all types of headlights incl petzl rechargeable and the best lightest and most convienent by far is the energiser i have 3 myself

Try the Princeton Tec 130 lumens,available for under £50 if you shop around,however if you use re-chargeable Ni-mh batteries,use at least
2800 amh. Speleo catchmaster is very bright,and is another option if you dont mind luggin' a lead acid battery around,that Tiga is a bit of an animal,and is worth getting repaired, ask a friendly "sparks" if you know one.thats it !

I wend down to lidl myself the other day, headlamps were E4 each....so i baught 3 of them. If i got half the winter out of the three of them id be doing well i know! But sure how bad for E4 each when im just getting back into the swing of things.

Check that the two spade connectors are really tight on the battery terminals, I had trouble with that before I gaffer taped them in position. Squash them with a pair of pliers if they are loose.

im not having ago at anyone here but any time someone asks about a headlamp on this site they get bombarded with cheap crap. get a quality headlamp buy once buy right simple as that

haha they were back in lidl last week for 4 euro again.they r crap but handy as a spare and thats about it.just shows u how bad they were if u went through 3 of them in half a winter.

Silva Alpha is brilliant and a pleasure to use.. I know people who have the led lenser and love them.. I had a Princeton Apex for a long time and the only reason I up graded was because I wanted something rechargable...

What he said. Also you can get 8 AA batteries for €2.99 in Aldi/Lidl. They are grand and I get about 3 sessions out of 4. Plus at that price it's easy to carry spares.

Very good headlamp. People here define "quality" based on the brand name rather than actually shopping around. Get one of these in at €7.50 try it out and then tell me that they are crap for the price. I bet you'll be impressed....

Have to agree with Kaner on this one, after reading several reports on the cree headlamps I decided to splash out on one, after all if it turned out to be no good I wasn't going to be too out of pocket, turns out it was probably the best €7.50 I've ever spent and has become my first choice headlamp, runs on 3AAA batteries and 3 sessions later is still going strong, well worth a try

i agree with shane... them cheap lamps just about do the job but anyone would notice the difference when they pick up a really decent lamp.. i bought a speleo fx lamp 6 years ago and it stil works as good as new to this day even after been dropped in salt water on more than 1 occassion and i have just upgraded to the speleo super nova which is an outstanding piece of kit an i ecpect the same service and quality i received from my old fx out of this newer model as i know the name brand produces quality... i wouldn even be able to remember how much money i have wasted on lost or broken "cheap lamps" and all the batteries that went with them

I reckon that I have done well over 30 sessions with mine. No issues..

Not sure it would survive being dropped into Sea Water though.

I'd be happy to, it's such a basic setup I can't see there being too much to go wrong, the average lifespan of a cree bulb being 35,000 hours. Probably be after Christmas before I get back to you though, less walking the dogs at night with it on counts as a session
