Which tide app is accurate

#1 Post by jhcabs »

Hey guys, I use two tides apps on my phone and there's always a difference of an hour between them

Irish tides: crap GUI, but possibly more accurate. Maybe not cause its Irish.
Today Dublin north wall: high 15.00

Tide planner: awesome GUI, tonnes of features and alerts but tide is an hour ahead of Irish tides
Today Dublin north wall: high 16.00

Which one is right?

With the irish tides one...it says to add an hour for daylight saving...

Personally, I just google 'tide times' and click on the top result which should take you to the irish times site...it's usually bang on for me!

Mack
sure, its not raining between the showers!

I guess that explains it then, so they are both pretty spot on then?

I would normally just use the Irish times when going local but most fishing trips for me are two, three days, with no laptop in sight so i rely on my phone

Cheers

This app here for android works off the Easy-Tides times and puts the hour on for DST. Not sure if its available for iOS though.
