Flounder on lures
Just seen a couple of clips on you tube of American lads lure fishing for flounder with Berkley gulp shrimps and was wondering has anyone ever tried it here.
Entries now open for the All Ireland Shore Cod Championships on November 29th hosted by Sea Angling Ireland SAC

Re: Flounder on lures
I've caught them on lures and the fly.
I usually use small crab and shrimp patterns on the fly, and skip them over the sand. I use much the same technique with the lures, i use the smallest size sinking rapala with the diving vane removed, and gain skip this along the bottom. Thats not a very refined technique though.
Catching flatties on lures is brilliant fun, even if its just for the novelty of it.

Re: Flounder on lures
As quick as i can manage while still giving the fly time to hit the bottom again. Short and sharp strips. I try and have the fly as heavy as i can while still be able to cast properly.
