Sea trout regulations

#1 Post by freedom1916 »

Hi

I've asked inland fisheries Ireland this and have yet to get a response. Basically I've my sea trout licence for 2014 and was looking at the regs which say the byone is catch and release only. Does this apply to the tidal areas and does this also apply to the beaches in the area.

It'll apply to the river catchment area, so no, not to the beaches in the area unless they lie within the catchment area. It will apply to any tidal areas within the catchment area i.e. the river estuary.

The question for you to put to IFI is precisely where do they regard the river catchment area ending?
