Need advice on new reel

#1 Post by jono,b »

Howay guys,

I am in the market for a new reel and looking for advice, i currently have a old battered abu 6500, i like the abu reels so might stick with them, anybody got any advice on a good reel on the market? and also what are your views on level wind?? i currently dont have 1 but like the idea of not having to constantly watch my spool to ensure a level rewind, pros? cons?

Thanks

Penn 525s are the old reliables really for bein able to do everythin and they're as tough as old boots but if your on a budget and like abu reels southside angling have abu 6500s without mags for sale for 84euro great little reel for that price....

penn 515 mag 2 is a much nicer reel than the 525 there a slight bit smaller and thats what i like about them and still hold a good bit of line,go for a pair of vass waders order your stuff from alderney angling rods, reels terminal tackle and i think main irish angling do the vass gear at good prices
