advice on chest waders

Hello all.
I would appreciate any advice/opinions anyone could give on the following waders.........Bison, daiwa, ron thompson or leeda -4mm neoprene chest waders, all with chest pocket and cleated boot soles.
This will be my first set of chest waders so all opinions needed.Also any other personal choices which aren't going to break the bank are appreciated-she is getting me a pair for xmas

About 150 euro, can't see how they can justify that price tag for all that's to them!

If you can afford it then get a pair of breathable chest waders - the type that the trout boys wear. Neoprene and PVC waders get very sweaty if you are moving around. Also nearly all breathable wader offers in the shops/online include wading boots, which provide much better support to the ankles than the moulded boots on the neoprene and PVCs.

Bought a pair of soniks last year,have to say they they are first rate,well made ,comfortable,and at £110 well worth it ,you can get other makes cheaper, but the soniks will last forever with a little care, I rinse mine with fresh water and hang them up to dry after use.a mate of mine got a pair of snowbee granites ,which were returned after being used four times,leaking at the knees,as a cheaper alternative ,the Ron Thompsons should tick all the boxes.

i have breathable chestys for the summer but wear my neopreen ones if its cold and if its freezing moon boots and floatation suit ,nothing worse than being cold when your fishing i have grauvell ones 4mm and they are 3 years old at least ,you do need to look after them if left in a wet heap they will soon perish ,a quick rinse with fresh water and hang them up to dry and they will last a long time

Try Marine Suppliers on the west pier Howth they do great deals on dunlop chest waders €50, ask for Donald and say you're a member of South Shore SAC. I got a pair in the summer and they a buillet proof Quality waders at a very good price.

Thanks for all the replies and info lads.No point in getting a pair that are gonna need replacing too soon ...... Ill take all advice into account when I get her to order them

I got almost 2 years use out of a pair of Behr waders before the first leak at the seam. I used a tube of sealant to seal the leaks as the appeared and I got another year out of them but I dont think they will last much longer. I was fairly rough with them. I walked miles of over grown river banks in them, used them a lot in the float tube as well as on the beach and never hung them up or rinsed them off. I paid about 80 euro for a 5mm pair.
