The Nanny Estuary!!

Hi there,
Im thinking of trying for mullet in the river nanny estuary in laytown, never fished it before! am looking for any advise
i can get !! is it to early for them yet? will they take a lure? or is float fished bread the best bet?

hi man,estuary mullet can be an awful lot harder to catch than harbour mullet but they also fight alot harder.if you just want to catch mullet balbriggan and skerries harbour 2hrs into the flood freeling bread on size 6 or 8 hook but as roger said,valium would be a very good idea. :)

Defo take a few valium before hand. They can drive you crazy.

haha, i tried mullet a few times and can see them looking at the bread, nuzzling it, picking at it and then ignoring it...very hard to catch.

I think i read somwhere that they have been taken on the fly in that pool under the railway bridge. might be worth a shot!
