You might have a chance of bagging the odd coddling now in killiney but is forget about the rest of them places its gettin late for cod you can give it a shot but is gear towards next season if I were you and think about travelling to Waterford or cork for successful cod fishing

In fairness, thats a nicely put together bait grumpy - crab would be best though. Cod are fairly sparse around those places even in peak season though.

I always found Mussel out fished any other bait back when I used to fish for them. I'd be dropping that bait in closer to see if there are any early silver fellas about.

I'm dropping the large baits around 90/100 m out and some smaller ones around 50m.plenty of dogs at both distances.looks like i'll have to wait 'til autumn for some cod...

To get cod you should head to waterford or cork ..... you dont need to use giant baits to get the small fish .... I always find lug worked best for me , mussel a good help

I had a 32cm Codling last night in a match. Caught it on a size one kamassan b940m with a small amount of lug tipped with some silver mackerel belly. It was the biggest round fish of the match. I was trying for whiting when I caught it just north of morriscastle.
