Trying to price a four day trip obver with some of my fishing buddies next
year, would be sailing into Dublin and was wondering if anyone could reccomend
an area not too far from Dublin with good mixed fishing, rock marks etc etc
with hotel/b&b,tackle shop handy,Wexford stuck out to me but not sure how
it fishes, ive only ever been to Achill Island twice and whilst its an amazing place
its a bit too far for a four day trip and a bit too barren as well-any help would
be appreciated gentlemen,
many thanks
Ian

Re: Fishing trip from Liverpool
When are you planning of coming over? The fishing around Dublin can be hit or miss and it was quite poor this year, I'm only talking about lure fishing btw but the bait reports weren't the best either. If you were renting a car you could drive to Wexford, which should fish better or you could fly Liverpool to Cork and then drive west, the fishing down there is much better.

With the motorway open now you can be in West Cork in 4 hours.

If it was me I would definitely head west or south. It might be that bit further but it would be worth it.

dont forget the bass closed season ,head to tralee and you will have any kind of fishing you fancy it might be a bit of a drive but you wont forget it in a hurry the dingle area is out of this world
wexford is a good base also with plenty of bass, hounds if you time it right

Re: Fishing trip from Liverpool
Waterford would be a great spot too! Only 2hrs from Dublin and you have any amount of beaches, estuaries, rock marks etc! Great bass fishing and if all else fails there's any amount of charter boats going out of dunmore/dungarvan!
