I fished rising tide in the Youghal Saturday evening and had 12 cod (11 of those above 2 lbs, largest 4.25 lbs). I fished the same mark on Sunday for a shorter time, there was lot of fresh water coming into the estuary with the rain but I still managed 7 cod (largest 5.5 lbs) and a large eel.

Fish into the deeper channels and you should pick up some cod.

The cod may not be making up to the Abbey yet and after all the rain on Sunday it is probably not worth fishing there until the flood water drains off. Abbey also best on the bigger tides.

Also Youghal fishes much better in darkness - daytime fishing for cod is not great

band stand fishes best at night on a rising tide never had good results in daylight the beach is much the same best bet would be ferry point fish to the left of the point for bass, good flounder, coalie, and best chance of a cod during the day make sure you have crab

Band stand/Green Park is poor in daylight. I don't think the beach would be great in daylight. Best option for daytime fishing is Ferry Point.
