good makes of reels?

#1 Post by Chopper27 »

Thinking of getting a new reel for my beachcaster, any suggestions on what type?
Not looking for anything cheap, sick of buying gear that doesnt last. All suggestions of GOOD makes appreciated.
Cheers :D

I'm mostly a shimano man, avoid their cheapest reels and you won't go far wrong. I have a few Abu ambassadors too, lovely reels but do need to be well looked after.

Look if your lookin for a multi that's reliable easy enough to use and will do almost anythin ya need from the shore id highly advise ya look into the Penn 525 mag range... There are other great reels out there like the 7ht from Daiwa or the 6500 range from abu but these are really only clean ground reels and are not suitable for rough stuff like on the other hand the Daiwa slosh range are great as well but a lol big for general beach work the 525 will handle both

Abu 6500 or Diawa 7ht are good for general fishing if your fishing over rough ground you could look at the Penn 525 reels.

Had a Mitchell 4000 rd 4.
Fell apart after 5 weeks. Corroded to bits.

Just my 2 cents. Abu Garcia cardinal spin

Savage bit of kit.
