fixed spool advice

OK,OK...I know this topic has been done to death a thousand times on this site ,but w.t.f I'm askin again.
I need advice on a fixed spool reel, this reel is to pair with a lightweight match rod,I'm thinking of something in 7000 or 8000 size,besides the obvious makes does anybody have any suggestions ?while a Daiwa Basia would tick all the boxes,its out of the question.rather than just throwing out brand names ,I would be grateful if suggestions given are based on experience of using the said reels .I really need toget this right lads.. pm if you wish . thanks 8

On a budget I got myself a dawia crosscast 5500 for my scratching rod and I just love this reel
It casts well and the retrieve is great nice and smooth.
I also have a shimano aerlex 8000 which is good also but no spare spool but a fine reel

should have stated this on the original post...I'm trading in an aerlex 7000 ...not a bad reel,but a tad too heavy
for the new rod.. as the founder of Lotus cars said..."For speed...add lightness "..

If its going on a scratching rod then the "abu soron stx 70" is a nice reel. Its way too small for a proper beach rod if thats what you will be using but for a bass rod or lighter its perfect. Ive landed a few doggies and a ray of about 6lbs with it while fishing in close and it was fine. Not designed for that kind of fishing but will do it if the need arises.
I have it about a year or 18months and its still going strong.

i recently picked up a Shimano Biomaster XSB and couldnt be happier €150, nice and light comes with 3 spools 6000, 7000, and 8000 which is handy.

Have a look at the penn affinity 7000 a cracker of a reel that's small enough but still got the guts and good line capacity. I've the 8000 my self and its a great reel but bit too big to balance a light match rod.

another option is the ultegra 5500? never used one but you wont see too many bad reviews

I've got the Soron Stx70. Solid tough reel, feels heavy/bulky compared to a slosh/saltist. But if your not holding your rod, it really doesn't matter.
It's well worth a punt.

Was lookin for the same thing myself ended up with a shimano arenos 4000 great reel much lighter than an aerlex but still powerful you can also get a 5000 theirs one on donedeal but you would prob.get.one from uk for cheaper than the one on donedeal

Have you got the Dawia crosscast 5500 for long ? I liked mine for the first 10 hours !!!

Mine started to struggle when i had a fish on, It had only done about 10hours, I think i just got a dodgy one.
