Warning From Greystones Harbour 29-12-12

#1 Post by eyesreilly »

Just a warning about parking in Greystones Harbour lads. I was parked near the pier last night and could actually see the van all night. I still had one of my rear wheel arch mouldings robbed off the van . In retrospect it would have been safer to park nearer the pub, where it's brighter and theres usually people outside smoking. Ah well , could have been worse, thank God I didn't catch them in the act and have to unleash my streetfighting skills as it wouldn't have been worth it to do a stretch for multiple homicides over a piece of plastic  . Hopefully it's just an isolated incident

Sorry, should really get my priorities right  ,,,,,calm at first,,,then windy later,,,,,frozen lug and mack,,,,one bite each hour for 3 hours,,,,,,not exactly hectic fishing  1 x small shorey,,,,,,,then 1 x decent shorey at 30cms,,,,,then a late effort at distance resulted in picking up a whiting on the retrieve (Fishface would tell ya he was there all the time  ). Good bit of weed around but fishable

I had a clear view of it all night Gerry, but unless you run down every time you see a car pulling up what can you do. Pity they put bollards at the ramp near the steps  . It was too windy for you know who last night

Looks like a really targeted robbery. It's not like a random hit in the window. Still it's very annoying.

You're right about the pier : even if you see the car, it's too far away to be safe. There are so many coming and going around that car park (mainly young people looking for privacy...). The advice to park near the pub is definitely a good one.

By the way, well done for braving the wind and for catching that rockling !
