Shorecaught Common Skate
Would any of you guys know the year and the anglers name who caught the 109lb Common Skate from Fenit Pier. Also any details of anymore large Common Skate from this venue.

I'm not 100% certain,but I think it was an english angler,named Frank Avery,who landed a common skate
weighing 106lb(48 kg),he fought the fish for over 4 hours,on 19lb line spooled on a early lightweight 5500 style reel

I believe our own Rampent Wreckfish had a large common off Fenit a few years ago.
Fluff chucking is the new black..... Rampant Wreckfish is a fly angler in denial

there was one caught way back in 1961 by michael latchford in april.the fish weighed 114lb.

It was a big stinger, not a skate.
