New to the forum
Hi all just introducing myself as a relatively new angler to Sea fishing. I am from Carlow and have to travel a long way to enjoy a days fishing from the shore/Rocks. I would firstly be a coarse angler (sorry lads) but I am becoming hooked as they say by the Sea fishing. A few of us in the Carlow club like to go Sea fishing, however we really haven't a clue as to what we are doing just the basics. I would appreciate it greatly if any one out there has a wee bit of spare time if they wouldn't mind meeting up to share a bit of knowledge. Cheers for your time, well appreciated Gerry.
Entries now open for the All Ireland Shore Cod Championships on November 29th hosted by Sea Angling Ireland SAC

Hi Gerry, welcome to SAI.
It might help if you said whereabouts, county-wise, you fish. There's bound to be someone on here with a good knowledge of that area.

Re: New to the forum
welcome to the site gerry, ye should try courtown some time, only an hour from carlow. If ye go, call into courtown angling centre, joe and the lads will give ye all the advice and tips for that area. And as willie says, ask anything on the site here, even if we dont know we will make something up.

Thank's very much lads for the welcome, well appreciated. I had 27 Doggies one night in Courtown and the fight was deadly all released to fight another day off course. I went out earlier this year on the boat and used feeder and jigging tactics and managed ten different species of fish probally not specimin but I thouroughly enjoyed the day from Dunmore East. I had Whiting, Cod, Mackerel, Sandeel, Red Gurnard, Cookoo Wrasse, Ling, Dog Fish, Pollock and Coley. I even seen my first Congor and near S~~~ my self and two lads on the boat had Octopus and Nev had a grey Gurnard so a good day was had by all.
