Howth slipway launch?
Mate of mine hopes to launch a boat in Howth shortly i read that you can launch a boat there at any time but to careful at low water as you could get stuck in the sand. I went out to Howth and i was speaking to a fellow there i think he was with the RNLI he told me you can only launch close to an hour before and after high tide
anybody any information that can help me here thanks.

dont think the slip drys out a mate of mine launches here all the time
he might have meant you would need an hour either side of low water to launch

I would agree with John1, I've launched there a number of times. I got caught out once at low tide. Managed to get out about an hour after low tide.
Cheers Andrew

You'll have no problem any time there..my boat is moored just down from the slip.Just be careful leaving the slip and stay between the yellow markers on the way out !

theres no problem launching at anytime.its only the moorings that dry out.just stick to the channel like paul said
