Howth slipway launch?

#1 Post by nicefish »

Mate of mine hopes to launch a boat in Howth shortly i read that you can launch a boat there at any time but to careful at low water as you could get stuck in the sand. I went out to Howth and i was speaking to a fellow there i think he was with the RNLI he told me you can only launch close to an hour before and after high tide :o anybody any information that can help me here thanks.

I would agree with John1, I've launched there a number of times. I got caught out once at low tide. Managed to get out about an hour after low tide.

You'll have no problem any time there..my boat is moored just down from the slip.Just be careful leaving the slip and stay between the yellow markers on the way out !
