Hi just wondering does anybody have any known marks or any tips?
Bought a packet of jellyworms and berkley saltwater on friday
Also the lad in the tackle shop gave me 6/o hooks with weights attached to them, would these hooks do?
Thanks

scrap them 6/o
hooks just tie up a running ledger with 2/o hooks and retrieve the jelly worms across the bottom.. i use to catch pllock off the head using the same technique a few years ago.. float fished ragworm also works

Well, I think you'll be lucky to catch anything larger than a couple of ounces - 6/0 is way too big.
You might try size 12 hooks with really light gear - should be fun. Alternatively, try the really small Sabikis for sprats and sandeels and tiny pollack, cod, whiting and gurnard (tiny = 3 inches or less).
The only thing you'll catch of any size there is mackerel, but you have to wait for them to turn up.

Re: Pollock fishing near Clogherhead
loads of codling up to 40cm in clogherhead, crab is the best bait or you can get lug around at the beach, i use 4/0 hooks to try to avoid smaller fish
