as i said a few weeks ago but didnt continue i was digging sand eel when i saw 2 f/n on the beach in a west cork area
it was strange in the way they were looking in to the flow of water just by where i was digging .(by now you should know were i am speaking about )after a while and some talking and evil eyes they left
i am the curious type so i went to where they were pointing and seemed to be talking about even doh i could not understand them
wadding threw the water and current i felt some thing a my knee .it was then i saw a net .shocked i went looking for the anchor point witch was dug deep in to the sand dune with a home made anchor and same on the other side

i waited to the next day and removed and burnt it .the tide was coming in on the day in question
since i did want to say it on the site incase the people in question were on here i kept it to my self
when i read the original post i decided to post this .
if your on here fair enough. but like the net you had down the law is closing in on you and hope you get caught
never mind the damage to the bass stocks wat if a child got caught up in the net it is know as a dangerous spot anyway
.this message was wrote with the best intention,s but i started to get angry towards the end

Seany- I have just read all the posts in this thread in full. It is shocking what is going on. Unfortunately I think it is too late for your peers in the North as every time I fish well known bass beaches in NI it is daubed with rumours of certain people wading stretches of the beach with a net. There is a lot of p**sed off people up here too, I can assure you. I can only imagine the disappointment you felt when finding the net. You did the rite thing by burning it. The cork area is somewhere myslf and friends dream of fishing but have not had a chance to get the troops together at the same time, you know how it is. But when we down eventually make it down I hope the fishing has not been damaged by these people and their nets.

Enda the meeting was last jan09,but you are correct contact the relevant fishery people with any ACCURATE,UP TO DATE ,PRECISE INFO on bass been caught illegally and that includes the catching of undersize bass and more than two fish in 24hrs by any angler you meet on the waterfront. Some anglers are as bad as the netsmen when they take big hauls of bass as that to is against the law.

applause all round. :D
well done gents, great to see some positive action.remember the commercials failed this time around, their
ill-judged,selfish and shortsighted proposal will come around sooner, than later and they might be more confident
of sucess, opposition must be maintained to let our opponents know that we're not taking this lightly. gotta go...off fishing !

Well done!!
Efforts like these also needed in other areas? This forum can be used to signalize illegal netting in all Irish coastal waters  .
