Wexford trip

#1 Post by Stephen8wood »

Hi all,

I'm thinking of heading down to Wexford town over the next couple of weeks and might get a session in. I'm looking for somewhere local enough (within 30 mins drive) of Wexford town where there is a decent chance of picking up a late bass or some codling. I was hoping to lob out a few baits while wading out with the spinning rod as well. Any advice about a good mark for this and bait tips would be appreciated and treated in confidence. I can swap a mark or two in South Dublin with ye and when you have stopped laughing about that offer a PM would be appreciated.

Stephen

hey lad,ive been up that way myself over the summer...fairly weak bass fishing lad,i had the smallest bass ive ever seen in my life off the most northern point of the burrough strand in rosslare...was given a few marks from a lad called colm murphy at the widgeons rest tackle shop on rosslare strand itself, and a few marks from two lovely ladies in a tackle shop in wexford town called j.murphy who were kind enough to print us a map and all as they knew we didnt know where we were going really...nice people, great spot to fish, but feck all fish, give colm a buzz he'll let ya kno how things are fairing out up that way..

Hey Ste. I've been fishing the area a lot lately and while i'm hearing the odd bass being caught i'd suggest trying for the Codling instead of your planning on driving so far down. I'd suggest travelling towards Arthurstown, Ballyhack and Passage east if you trying to stay within 30 mins of Wexford.
