Ray fishing

#1 Post by Dave78 »

I have spent the last month or so searching for a mark to catch ray from the shore, so far I've been to a good few west cork beaches and double that down east cork.
Most of the catches i see on Facebook post seem to be from Kerry beaches, am i wasting my time trying cork beaches for another month, any help would be great, thanks.

i used to catch a few thornbacks down east-ferry a few years back from the shore on the east ferry side just at the start of the river say heading up the channel, its kind of a low to half tide mark and the ground is rough outside so be prepared, might be worth a go

It is frustrating dave but sure we will find them soon and the above advice helps thanks guys . I haven't fished at night for them so that could be where I'm going wrong but don't get as much enjoyment fishing at night really I like to enjoy the surroundings as well as the fishing

you will double your chances of hooking a ray if you fish at night they are hard enough to catch as it is so try to maximize your chances by having weather tides and time of year in you favour. Twilight is normally prime hook up time
