Berkley nanofil

#1 Post by cod chaser »

Hi lads has anyone tried the berkley Nanofil on there beach multipliers. I looked at the reviews & wondering would it work on a beach multiplier instead of mono.

I use it on my spinning reels, but would not recommend it for a multiplier, (boat is ok) id say it would be like braid and would be a disaster for casting with a multiplier(talking from experience) . If its more distance you want, i would go for the continental style setup, 15-18ft rod and fixed spool with braid. I tried it a few weeks ago with my mates and the distance was fecking unreal, way more than im getting from my multipliers, so i'm hoping that santa will get me a continental rod for Christmas
Good things come to those who bait.

Thanks for the reply I already use braid on my beach set up when I'm using my fixed spool outfit. I'm fishing a lot more now with multipliers & I like the zero stretch on braid were you feel everything.

I just got some of this recently - I have it loaded on a small fixed spool which I hope to use for soft plastics off the boat. (The boat being Dick Hayes' Enterprise - not mine unfortunately!) I haven't had a chance to use it yet but it feels a bit strange. It does say on the Nanofil spool that it is not intended for use on baitcasters because it tends to dig in to existing coils so I would be a bit wary of using it on a beachcaster...
