Cappaclough Beach, Dingle - help!

#1 Post by alby »

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has any pearls of wisdom on this place? Will most likely be fishing it during the daiwa pairs but I from what I have heard it’s a bit “funny”!

Any help/PM’s greatly appreciated

Cheers,
Alby

Fished there last week and two days ago,I will be fishing the pairs there also my first year ever competing so there will be a lot of learning...

We had a club comp there in June also and I came third... I don't have any pearls of wisdom, your good mates with John and martin I think so they your best bet...
I'd rather be fishing..

2013 : Bass, Flounder, rockling, rainbow, sea trout, sliver eel, flounder, plaice, brown trout, pike, conger, salmon, sea trout, mackerel, pollack, undulate"first".

2012 : Salmon, Sea Trout, Thornback, Ling, Pollack, Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Cod, Bass, Dog fish, Sole "From derrymore!", Pike, Roach, Dab, Turbot, Brown Trout.

C'mon Dan, the beans, get them spilled there......

The boys will be hit up in due course for the info. As Paudi said about Micko, "he'd tell you he'll be up above in Dublin but he's in Galway" :D

Fished there last September a couple of times , had some good mullet to just under 5lbs on maddies cast 30 yards out , small plaice , flouders , schoolies and a baby stinger. If you fish small hooks further out there are a lot of very small wrasse to be had , not my cup of tea , but thats what some do in matches to make up a decent bag. We had a decent shoal of mullet in front of us for a while , wether they would be there with 40 anglers on the beach I am not so sure. Going over again soon.

fished there a few year ago now there were 4 of us .We started off in the middle and didn't have much to shout about so we split up, 2 went to the left and myself and 1 other went right ,the boys who fished to the left had small fish including bass, flounder wrasse and weever I think , myself and a mate who fished to the right faired a little better we had the same bass ,flounder also a huss of around about 11lb at distance {120yds+} and a stinger of around 6lb on mud rag  at about 20yds it was the only time we ever fished there, considering we been going there for about 6 yrs at the time, looking back think we should have fished it much more think it could produce a few good bags ,enjoy the pairs haven't fished them myself but been to dingle the same time of year and went to the presentation wot a good njght that was, hope this helps a little you will have a great time I,m off to belmullet again this year  cant fecking wait
