Kerry Marks?

#1 Post by seankilleen »

Hi All,

I am heading to Tralee tonight for the weekend and want to do some fishing. Is there any good marks that you know in the area. Also, are there any particular species that I should be targeting that I'm on the west coast? any tips would be great.

Any good marks? They're everywhere down there. It would depend on what you want to do eg: boats, rocks, surf beaches, piers etc. Give Tralee Bay S.A.C. a bell and they should give you a bit of advice on where's fishing well at the moment. Enjoy.

Fenit pier. Or the bridge going out to the pier. Can't go wrong there. Best spot in the country

Have a look here - http://traleebayseaangling.ie/marks.html

That site was created by mate (who's sadly no longer with us) but it's a good guide to a few marks around Tralee from a guy who really knew his stuff...

As said above the place is full of potential if you look around but as a rule of tumb fenit pier can be a bit slow going so I would suggest derrymore strand this time of year for rays or the SPA on the opposite side of the bay also for rays and bass can show up at any mark around tralee bay with the key bait being lugworm
