hi all I'm Headn down.to gorey tomorrow for the weekend am.staying in a hotel that has its own private beach it's.the. seafield hotel have any of you ever fished it before or fished.in gorey.at.all any tips for the beaches down.there would be great.

First of all that beach is not private. It will always be Tara Glen/Cove to me ;)

The ground in front of that little waterfall is pretty snaggy, but if you walk down to tara cove beach (just walk right) it can fish well at night if theres a bit of surf. there is a sand bank out about 40 yards or so and a deep gutter in close. this weekend is looking a bit calm though so i'd try ballymoney beach or courtown if you have a car. Theres still some smooth hound about.

Cracking spot, plenty of smoothies if calm and bass if rough, walk to one of the headlands & fish there. Enjoy!

Yeah man that entire stretch of beach is good, can be full of dogs for the best part but specimen smoothy's and thornback are no strangers to the area, two guys I went that area with last weekend both got smoothy's around 5-6lb, shore report is on here actually if ya wanna check it out
