Daiwa sea seat box

#1 Post by Sir Pete »

Hi guys,

just wondering has anybody got some experience with the Daiwa sea seat box?? I know its alot smaller that the beta box etc but i think it may just be the right size for me.. i useually keep my fishing gear in a big box in the house and then pack what i need for each session into a backpack. im really getting sick of the backpack but cant decide which would be the best replacement for me. one of these or a beta box? ill be taking a look at it before i buy it but just wondering has ony one got some good/bad experience with them..?

Thanks,

Pete

Seen it in cork angling a few weeks back and it looks small in comparison to the shakespere boxes.. its roughly the size of a cool box ,the shakespere look a better job

My brother has a an attachment for his shakespeare box, like straps which turns it into a backpack. Might be of use to you, maybe you know of it already?

I'm a lot like yourself when it comes to taking only what i need but today i picked up a second hand seat box for 15 euro. its the shakespeare box. must say its pretty dam big. going to take a while to get used to it but i think i was right getting the extra room, for headlights, bait, gear, spares, traces, fish ;)

I think in time i'll learn to love it otherwise i'll sell it to you for a tenner...

Here is a thread on another forum I found actually comparing them.

http://www.worldseafishing.com/forums/s ... a-Seat-Box

I am not looking for it to replace a beta box but more for a smaller alternative. As 90 percent of my fishing (at the min) would be either from a boat or spinning from rocks I only ever use 1 rod. Because of this all really need to fit in it is 1 reel, a rig wallet and a few weights and sometimes a bit of rag. I think it may just suit me a bit better than a beta box because as you said jhcabs there pretty big.
The only way to be sure is to actually look at one.. has anyone seen them in any of the Dublin based shops?

I picked up a tackle box i use only for the boat,in Argos about 2 years ago and it has held up perfectly up until now except for a few of the screws a bit rusty. Look up keenets fishing seat box on Argos website. The permanent cushion has come in very handy at times and has plenty of space ive found without being as cumbersome as other boxes and also keeps your gear dry. Might be worth a try. Think it's about €30

Have been looking for one of these but can't seem to find them in the shops up here. Anyone know where to get them in Dublin/Wicklow?
