Reel Advice..
Hey folks, i just got myself a diawa sandstorm 12ft multi and want a reel to go with it. I have an ABU 6501 that i use with a penn bass rod, but i want something with a bit more guts and no level wind.. The reels im thinking of are a penn525/515 or the diawa slosh20/30. I know that both reels get excellent reveiws in magazines etc, but im looking some advide from people who use the reels. Also, if you have a left hand abu6501c3, is it possible to change it into a ct if i bought a ct frame,, Thanks for any advice offered..

Re: Reel Advice..
i use the slosh 20 myself and it is a powerhouse of a reel, you wont go wrong with one of them, i went and got myself a spare spool and have that filled with 30lb braid and it casts great. i have also used the slosh 30 and the 525, both very good strong reels.
and yes you can convert your 6501c3 i have converted my one.

the slosh is excellent but really only over rougher ground as most people on this forum will tell you ya will not go wrong with a penn 525 mag.. ya cant really fault these reels at all i fill mine with 18lb mono and this way i can fish clean ground or rougher ground if i need to defo would reccommend them to any1...

Re: Reel Advice..
Thanks for the replies lads, probably try the penn 525mag, bit more expensive than the slosh but should be worth the extra few quid. Cheers...

Re: Reel Advice..
Hi, i have the slosh 30 and i find it a great reel, but i recently got the penn 525mag and its a cracking reel. A bit more expensive but well worth the money!!
The two best times to fish is when it's rainin' and when it ain't!!
