hi there just wondering about surf fishing for bass how far do you have to cast in to the surf from the beach and should yo need a grip lead or a roller ?

Hi Gerry. There is no need for distance casting on any of the beaches around Waterford.
Depending on the speed of the tide if a grip weight is needed.
If your fishing Tramore and there is weed don't be disheartened because if you keep trying down along the beach
you will normally find a clear patch.
When it gets dark you would be very surprised how close the bass come in.

i caught my first an best bass of 12lb by accident 40 yrds from the shore in daylight :wink:
