hi,
just wondering does anyone having tips on unhooking fish without harming them or how to avoid deeply hooking them. Was fishing with a 4/0 hooks and ending up with a bearded rockling on the line. I wanted to release it but it had swallowed the hook right into its guts. I couldnt get it out so had to kill the fish. Was feeling pretty bad about it and would prefer to avoid needlessly killing fish if I'm not gonna keep them. I'm a novice so all advice appreciated

Re: deeply hooked fish
use kamasan hooks - the thinking is that you can cut the line and the hook will dissolve in the fish over time - meaning you dont have to kill it
