Re: conger
My tip is to leave them alone too many lads are taking conger for the table. Dragging conger up the rocks is not much try Find something else to occupy your time.

Re: conger
choco has a point, ive seen lads many a time at howth using rope with plastic bottles(marker buoys) tied off to the harbour only to hook it on the towbar of the car when they get a bite and drive up the harbour to tear the eel from its lair.howth congers have been decimated over the last few years by these really sporting "new irish"chaps

Re: conger
the only way of gettin a conger outta its den is constant pressure.. the min ya set that hook an feel tthem move you dont stop reelin and if they lock up durin the retrieve dont panic jus keep steady pressure til she moves again... it can be hard work though
an this forum is for answerin questions not attackin the people that ask them

well i dont catch them to eat and i tend to fish over high water
and use a net to land so i dont hav to drag any eels up the rocks
i just loose more than i land ,,and i use a rod not a hand line
weres the fun in that,, and my tip to u is if u dont wanna give some
good advice dont give any at all
