I have been looking for a new casting machine lads. around the £100 mark.
Seen nice penn rods, the powerstix and the penn extreme. whats the surf blaster outasight like also.
Is there any others that are good apart from penn?
Anyone recommend a decent caster, between 13ft - 15ft and can cast around 7oz at the most.
Good bite detection and nice through action?
Any advice would be appreciated lads.

Re: New rod lads? Help please
hey, looking at the rods you posted about there, my brother uses the sandstorm, nice rod, worth the money. id get that before i got the longbeam. As for the imax rod, dont know much about it to be honest. if your looking for a powerful reel go for the slosh, if you are looking for a lighter reel go for the 7ht. I always got more distance with the 7ht but maybe its only me. Try get a abu 6500 florada mag if you can, great reel, probably my favourite actually, brilliant distance casting reel and more Powerful then the 7ht, hope this helps

Re: New rod lads? Help please
The 7ht (black one) would be an ideal starter multiplier but its only suitable for clean ground. The penn 525 mag would take a little bit more mastering but would do both clean and broken ground.Rod wise wouldnt rate any of the rods you have mentioned better off saving up to afford somthing a wee bit better, or look out for a good seccond hand one.
