Hi Fintan,

Sound advice there from Dennis. Try a few Rods before you commit to anything. You don't want to end up with a carbon footprint like Paddy. Best way is to get up to a meet and have a try of a rod or 2. Do you prefere the 150g & 175g or do you want to try the lighter leads. I think the HSM would be nice for the 100g and maybe the 125g, so maybe you only need something for 150g and if it handles the 175 all the better.

Be careful, this casting lark normally ends up in a reel collecting binge.

We will try organise another more meet before the year is out so come along then, loads of rods to try out. Keep hitting that 200 yard mark with the HSM every cast and then think about a new casting spec rod to take you further.

fintan your well able to hit it and the hsm would be a bit harder to get right because of the soft tip , you should try an M4 EVO 8)

Fintan as already advised, try as many diff rods as poss before parting with the cash, but the kompressor you have is well capable so stick with that until then, also your HSM is well up for job on all the leads, i know one of the UKSF lads has done some great distances on the 150g and 175g with his...

If i remember right it was a mag-2 you got from be all those years ago, if you can get it to me ill give it the once over for ye
