Donaghdee, Co Down, 18th March 2009

#1 Post by Drew »

People: Team McMinn (Drew & Dan)

Duration: 5.30pm - 8pm

Tide: Dropping Rapidly

Weather: Gorgeous, Southerly Wind Decreasing, Nice Sunset

Bait: Black Lug, Sandeel, Mack

Rigs: 1up1Down, 2up, 3up

Results:
Drew > 1 Rockling, 1 Codling, 1 Pouting
Dan > Himself.

Report:

So, Once again master and pupil return to dear old Donaghadee town, to be greeted by Flat Seas, and great Weather. I started off with 1 Rod Close ad 1 Further out, and was rewarded with a nice little Rockling for my efforts  . Dan followed suit, had a couple of knocks but he didn't connect.

Sport was slow, :( but as the light left us I managed a little Red Codling which took a liking for some Lug fished hard on the bottom. Pretty little thing, and a welcome sight as it's only my 2nd of the Year.

The Light on the end of the pier was out, so it was a bit darker than usual, so the headlamps were out by the time I hooked the final fish, a little pouting in the middle, not huge, by any standards, but sure it beats sitting in the house, Great to be back out, can't wait for Friday for some more!!!! 8)
