Youghal still poor, serious shortage of crabs and some trawlers working the bay don't help. Maybe this storm will push them into the harbour.

Fished the Waterford Estuary on Sunday, small codling barely a lb and a whiting.
2019 species: codling, whiting, flounder, dab, dogfish, spurdog, sole, smooth hound, bass
2020 species: codling, dab, whiting, flounder, dogfish, turbot, smooth hound, bass
2021 species: flounder, black goby, dogfish, smooth hound
2022 species: dogfish, smooth hound
2023 species: flounder
2024 species: dab, smooth hound, flounder, bass

Drove past a good few lads fishing the wall around low tide today. Any reports lads??

Still no cod plenty of pin whiting. Competition on tomorrow there should be plenty of anglers along the wall

Headed out in west Waterford between xmas and new years loaded up with a selection of frozen razor, mack and black wrap in the hope of picking up a winter cod!

Wasnt to be.. the mark was plagued with pin whiting which immediately attacked the bait as soon as it settled on the bottom.

Quiet a few of the fish that i landed had the "Lernaeocera branchialis" parasite buried in their gills.. the parasite was probably on half of the 10-12 fish i caught

fished carpets on new years night finally got nice cod about 4lbs 2hrs after high tide some decent whiting and few small cod and odd decent coalie near 3lb all on lug

fished geenpark last night plenty of dogs some small codling few whiting caught and one small coalie 6 diff anglers fishing it fear bad at moment

Fished the Abbey on Saturday morning.Crab activity off the charts baits stripped in minutes.I really could have done with squid to protect the baits but I had none

It was hardly whiting stripping your bait that far up the river?? I was plagued with them 2-3 weeks ago

Hi Paddy,no it wasn't-i was using braid on one of the rods so I would have seen or felt the nibbles if it was whiting. Plus I actually pulled in a crab at one stage -he had gotten too friendly with the hook !

Yes there is - wexford last night
(I realise im holding the fish at arms length - it was so foggy I was only getting grey images) 3.5 maybe 4lbs - had 3 others to 2lb!
