Never a truer word said, as my PB 135m will testify!

135m with lead, is probably only 100m with 3 baited hooks, and I find 85% of fishing conditions don't even call for that.

Tex I,ve been shore fishing for decades and have tried them all believe you me stick to your fixed spool as the multi,s are not worth the bother .. they look the part but it ends there !

180 m is a good cast. The only way I could reach anything like that is on a flat beach but I would have to wade out 100m first

Hi fellas,thinking of upgrading from fixed to multi,wondering if theyre as headwrecking to master as some people make out??generally i use shimano baitrunners and have no problem whatsoever wit them(i hear some of you saying if its not broke dont fix it)however conditions sometimes favour distance,are they really the be all and end all of angling?thanks

personally i would change rods , your 12ft shakespeare salt will be running out of steam at around the 180m mark imho .
