People:me

Duration:2 hours

Tide:rising

Weather:rain, rain and more rain!

Bait:dexter wedge, stinger and toby lures.

Rigs:spinning setup.

Results:2 pollock

Catch and Release:: Yes

Report:june has arrived so it was time i got the light spinning gear together and have a crack at some pollock and hopefully a mack or two. only had a couple of hours so i headed to my usual spot at orlock. nothing at all happened for the first hour, tried 5 or 6 different lures but not one take. stuck on a stinger lure that i only just purchased on ebay and on the third cast i had a wee pollock. another few casts and bang, this time there was a better bend in the rod. unfortunately it got off. :( it felt a decent fish too. another few casts and i caught the second of my pollock, it took the lure straight away on the drop, a better fish and a nice wee fight on the light spinning rod. i have to get the fly rod down some week. unfortunately no macks, probably be sick of the sight of them in a months time. i took a wee pic of the biggest of my pollock.

your a brave man going out in that weather. I was up in fahan in the search for rays. I'm sure it was a cracking fight on the light gear.
plenty of cheeky mackerel in the harbours at the minute

no mate, it was a good day to fish. there was no wind at all, ok it did rain all day but i always bring waterproofs anyway. only thing is the rocks can be deadly on a day like today. i'll hit in macks one of these weeks as i'll have the spinning rod out quite a bit now.

that lure you have on is either the same or similar to what I caught most of my fish on last year.they are cracker and cheap as chips so if you lose them in weed/rocks it's no big deal.think they are made by dennett.
I have them in 1oz and 2oz weights.
the purple one stood out as the most consistant catcher at orlock last season. :wink:

might see you there soon if I can get away from the bottles and nappys :!:
