New Spinning Reel?

At the suggestion of various members and given the magazines will run a mile from criticising a piece of kit, here is your chance to tell us what you really think about a rod, reel, line, lure... keep it legal please!

New Spinning Reel?

#1 Post by Pat »

Looking for advice on a new spinning reel. Will be using mainly for plugging for bass (with braid). Currently using a Shimano Aero 6000PE, which is starting to act up, and a Shimano Perfection 6010 (XT-7). The latter packed up completely the other night while beach fishing. I had been using with my bass rod, & chucked out leads upto 4oz.

I would use something smaller for plugging. I use a Stradic 3000.

There was another thread on this subject a few weeks ago:

You can't go wrong with any of the Okuma fixed spool reels. Reliable, plus cheap as chips.
