If you mean normal footwear as opposed to wellies, there are severel good makes, one of the important factors is to make sure there is a goretex inner and that the tongue and upper are all one piece. This helps elininate leakage. Some people prefer to wear slightly higher boots but beware when walking for long distances these may become uncomfortable. If you have these try not tieing the tob few lace studs. Try any of the military mags for a good reference. At the moment I have wear Haix but I have a few to chose from.

lot of soldiers use them regularly for rough stuff.......
team em up with any of the goretex breathable socks and your on a winner

I use a pair of map boots fur lined and a pair of cortex army socks.
Some people call them field boots. carp men use them, waterproof and warm.

Dunmurry lane laganside tackle got them for £30 at the moment but iam sure if you look around or ebay for them i got my pair ebay £12 including postage. Better than moon boots as can walk in them over rocks a rough stuff like wearing a waterproof hiking boot
