Got 6 mackerel in Howth today
2025 shore species: Bass (1), Dogfish (1), Flounder (4), Whiting (4)
2025 hours fishing on shore: 40

Tried Skerries and Balbriggan a few times over the last week . No joy.

got plenty of mackerel and pollock out of Killala, mayo on a friends boat 19th august

Got 6 big mackerel at skerries pier this morning,on float rig ,best way to pick out the decent ones ,only problem is avoiding the pin whiting

You got in just in time before the winds pick up. Good going. Fished a few hours in balbriggan yesterday and just picked up one on spinner. Boat just offshore didn't seem to getting any or the chap beside me using feathers. Might try the pier in skerries in the morning if it's not too windy

Ye might get away with it the wind will be behind u,in the morning.or go tomorrow evening wind is supposed to die off,but water clarity could be a problem

That's it yeah. I'm always watching the wind on the forecast like a hawk. It's all over the place but yeah Skerries is handy when it's southerly. Well done on getting a few. Can't beat fresh mackerel

Mostly joey's in skerries. Had one decent one on the float and 3 small ones. Oh and a seagull

4 keepers today,fell to sabikis, 1 hour before High tide, west Cork. All other lures and feathers were ignored.

2015: whiting, coalfish, turbot, pollack, ballan wrasse, conger, thornback, short spined sea scorpion , common blenny ,

2014 : dogfish, garfish, launce, common blenny, cuckoo wrasse, flounder, pollack, thornback ray,

2013 species:(15) Whiting, Dogfish, Three Bearded Rockling, bull huss, poor cod,turbot, flounder,pollack, spotted ray, thornback ray, launce, corkwing wrasse, long spined sea scorpion, common blenny,mackerel,

2012 species: Thornback, bull huss, Dogfish, pollack, Mackerel, bass, flounder, turbot, conger,




Species 09:(23) Conger, Whiting, Bass, flounder, Dogfish, dab, corkwing wrasse, pollack, bull huss(8lb 10oz~PB) , thornback ray(8lb~PB), dragonet, ballan wrasse, Blenny, Mackeral,long spined sea scorpion,pouting, coalfish, launce, codling, poor cod, starry smoothhound, 5 bearded rockling, shore rockling..

Dun Laoghaire inner harbour full of joey mackerel rampaging all over the place. Better fish at the back of the piers but beware of seals.
