Lads with the direction of the wind for the next week how would you feel the weed situation might affect youghal? Plans are toget down sat 17th and have this date planned a few weeks so really want to get everything right this time.

I didn't look. I stopped fishing there after the surfers started to infest the place.

The weed at the greenpark in youghal was really heavy a few days ago. A couple of days previous the beach near the boardwalk was just about fishable.
Down west garretstown area was poor and red strand and surrounding area was the same.

Bantry airport strip weed wasn't a problem but the dozen or so strings of crab/lobster pot running from bouy to bouy parallel to the shore within casting range the whole length of the area made fishing impossible.
It was a long drive to make this discovery.
Fished a few other marks along the sheep's head peninsula without any problems

I would never fish that beach in daylight. You would have been better off fishing in the harbour area. deeper water and a bit more colour in it.
I'm off to Garryvoe in later. :D
