All about weed ????????

Had a bit of a struggle last summer with weed on the east coast beaches I'm sure I wasn't the only one ....
I Have read online about wind direction affects the fishing on the east coast but couldn't get the head around it all....as I have fished the same beech over the space of a week and the wind direction had changed direction on both sessions and the weed was still getting me im just wondering how it affects the fishing and what are the best ways to avoid driving all the way to a mark and finding out it is unfishable are there any tips tricks to avoid the dreaded weed eg using a certain type of rig or somthing or is it just the beaches I fish eg killcoole greystones, kiliney..... Thanks in advance.

I’m sure others will know more on the subject, but I’ve found:

Weed worse in the summer

Weed worse in easterlies

Weed worse on spring tides.

Also found Kilcoole to be bad for weed. I’d be interested to know other’s thoughts cause, like you, I’ve driven all the way to spots in Wicklow and Wexford with the same result before.

Afew days of westerly's and fish a small to medium tide is all you can do with the wickla beaches

Wicklow weed is normally finer than wexford weed but more mellow!

keep a eye to the weed watch section in the shore angling q&a and if you are planning a session on a certin beach ask how the weed is a few days in avance and someone might be able to give you the heads up b4 you travel
