for a longer session i will use a shelter i have a RT for a good few years got a lot of use and still alive, but im now using the standard igloo also a great shelter, but i also use the team daiwa beach brolley quite a bit very quick and simple to set up, i would never consider using a tent for beach fishing  .

aye, I'm an igloo user too. or standard beach wind breaker that beach goers use, with an additional floatation suit... the elements let you know you're alive

Here I go again. A different opinion , I got a umbrella that will fit 2 men and boxs and gear it also has a skirt on the bottom to put sand or shingle around. I like the umbrella cause it can be put up rapid fast and taken down too. If your not in a mad rush to buy the fishing show is comming up and you could get one there at a great price or where I have seen some of both is on done deal and asverts.ie.
Or just man up . Are you not used to the weather by now. . . .

umbrellas are a thing of the past with all these new beach buddys coming out every few months i have 2 sitting in the shed that dont get used anymore as an igloo replaced them by miles

the ron thompson beach buddy is good if your just fishing by yourself but if you have a buddy id recommend getting an ian golds igloo i had both and the igloo is still used and has lots of room in it by yourself or fits 2 comfortably or 3 at a push if its bucketing down
