Hi lads,
New to sea fishing. Have basic gear and would love to catch a few pollock or mackerel. Im living in Offaly about an hours drive from Galway city. Anyone give me a few tips on where to fish and what to use please.
Thanks in advance
Jim

I've heard there's a few mackerel being caught around Spiddal, any truth in it? Heard also that Sligo can be good too. Anyone fish up there?

North clare rock marks around blackhead will have pollack and mackerel from around now on also if you want bigger pollack you could go a bit off track and try the more remote spots which are barely fished

Re: Pollock and Mackerel around Galway
I have hit a lot of pollock on firetails over the last week. The mackerel arent around in huge numbers yet. You will get pollock and macks in black head but there might be closer places to the motorway on the other side of the bay.Jimy1971 wrote:Hi lads,
