Hi folks,
Thinking of investing in a new fixed spool rod capable of casting 6-7oz with bait and hauling gear out of the rough stuff. Looking at an Ian golds extractor but the money is a bit to much in the current climate and all that . Any suggestions appreciated, Cheers
Ask on this has anyone got a penn roughstuff 14ft ya should pick one up 2nd hand for a hundred or less will pull any type of fish out of any ground with ease and rung for fixed spool and multi as far as I can remember

I have one and yes it will pull the bottom up if needed but its rung for multi only. Ive used fixed spool on it a few times but only for short casts for conger.
Cheers for the replies folks I' prefer something rung for fixed spool so I could cast efficiently when needed. I've no interest in going back to multis either, thats why the Ian Gold's extractor F/S is so appealing !

Decided to push the boat out today and buy the last new extractor available in the country from East Coast but it was sold this morning !!!!!!!!! Back to square one for me, still on the look out
I have a greysflex-s rod in the for sale section its clean-mixed ground suitable for fixed or multi if interested its in great nick and im also in east cork.

Pity about that,i too was looking for "that" rod a few weeks ago but was told it was sold as well real pity cracking rods.Lugworms rod maybe worth checking out as greys do some decent gear.
