advice on a rough ground/skulldragging rod around €150 ?

#1 Post by sailnfish »

Hi folks,
Thinking of investing in a new fixed spool rod capable of casting 6-7oz with bait and hauling gear out of the rough stuff. Looking at an Ian golds extractor but the money is a bit to much in the current climate and all that :) . Any suggestions appreciated, Cheers

I have one and yes it will pull the bottom up if needed but its rung for multi only. Ive used fixed spool on it a few times but only for short casts for conger.

My mate uses a rough stuff multi rod with a fixed spool for all/ most of his fishing.
You should have no trouble with it.

Cheers for the replies folks :) I' prefer something rung for fixed spool so I could cast efficiently when needed. I've no interest in going back to multis either, thats why the Ian Gold's extractor F/S is so appealing !
