Quality hooks ?

Any recommendations for makes of hooks
I believe there are hook makes that ll bend if snagged in weed ?

I think owner hooks are very hard to beat, I use the cutting point and circle hooks from owner and I've full confidence in them. I also like cox & rawle meat hooks for Tope and congers.

I found Aberdeen hooks very good and the only bend with extreme force

Aberdeen Match hooks will bend or break in a snag if thats what your after?

Yea they break in a snag and a fishes mouth too :( like I found to my expense when I hooked a huge bass on a kamasan match lost it at my feet, dam hook snapped.

Depends on what you want them for, but check out Varivas big mouth hooks from Veals. Perfect for bass and hounds.

Agree with Steve, I use Varivas Big mouth extra 7/0 for my Tope fishing, never let me down. Varivas have a 4/0 piggy back hook (essentially a big mouth with a spike on the back of the shank) that I use for my smoothie fishing. Excellent hooks & good value. Cox & Rawle Uptide, Uptide Extra & Meat hooks are excellent too, but a bit pricey.

get a pair of pliers you will find alot of hooks will snap quite easily and some will bend you will be in for a suprise with alot of hooks ! its all down to pesonal choice and price ,the sharper the better :twisted:
