low profile life jacket, buoyancy aid

After reading about another tragedy from our shores it got me think of how often this happens either when your with someone or not and I started wondering about a low profile jacket.Maybe not a jacket as such but more of a buoyancy aid to keep you above water.Is there such a thing available ?

Floatation jackets have came on leaps and bounds
They're not as bulky as they used to be They ll give u a bit of padding support too if the worst happens

I habitually wear either my self inflating multi pocketed fly fishing jacket or my kayak PFD which is low profile, 50N, whenever rock/pier fishing. Perhaps over cautious, but better safe than sorry.

I usually bring my flotation jacket but its unbearable during the summer months.The fly jacket looks perfect.How does it stand up to wear and tear? I had a few dodgy stumbles last year that made me think and for the fact I'm usually wearing light weight waders when I'm rock hopping,a habit I'm trying to cut.

I've had it two years now, not a mark on it. nice thick material to stand up to scuffs and such. gives me confidence in fishing safely.
If I bring ppl fishign with me too to rock marks I give em my Kayak PFDs...you don't even know you're wearing them
