Also has anyone used 'red ice' line its seems awful red and it might deter the fish so i was wondering if line colour effects the fish especially such a brigh colour like the red ice

Supposedly red is the first colour of the spectrum to disappear under water, although if it was try why do so many lures have a red 'tag' on them?
I used red ice for years and got on really well with it. i would say that on a multiplier it can blow up until it is well bedded into the spool. I have heard it called marmite line as equal quantities of people love it and hate it.
The red will help cut down on bird strikes round there in North Clare but I would never run it straight through, i like clear shockleader and clear rig body and hooklength.
My personal preference would be suffix tritanium in .35mm for the rockmarks round clare.
The Truth is often stumbled upon by men, most of whom pick themselves up and hurry along as if nothing ever happened.

Been using Red Ice for past 12 months in 18lb on fixed spool off beach, no problems whatsoever, easy to pick up during daylight and headlamp picks it out well at night. Used with standard shockleader.....always found Ultima lines to be reasonable.
