we've all heard the saying "wind from the east the fish bite least" was just wondering what your thoughts on it were or is just a load of rubbish. i fish the west coas galway area if that makes any difference thanks .conor :) :) :) :) :)

I've heard that before.i fish north co dublin and wind from the east puts a bit of surf on the beach so bass and flounder are expected.

I fish north donegal mostly and the east wind is not good, cold and fishless would be a good generalisation, these sessions are normally only redeemed by a dogfish or the thought of watching x factor if I had stayed home :cry:

when the wind is too the west is when the fishing will be at its best and boy did come true the other day

I always found east winds produce less fish except for flatties for some reason for me anyway they seem to alive in a easterly wind :)
