match angling tips

hoping to be able to go fishing next year as part of my release agreement with herself. does anyone have any tips for match angling. ive already found a local club so im hoping to look cool infront of them? 8) ive heard whites are a good bait?

6/0 pulley rig with a full mackeral is my advice for the comps on the wexford beaches and mussel works well some times.

Start fishing your club comps first and pay attention. Successful match angling is very hard if you intend to fish opens. You need an ultra competitive mindset in order to be successful but remember, these days, on most beaches, you're not going to be catching anything over 30cm so scale down accordingly. Give it a go and enjoy yourself.

Ignore all advice given on websites for a start, there are too many bullshitters posting looking for attention :D

Get a car and a driving licence. That way you won't be dependent on others for lifts :)

Thanks for the advice guys. Went out training tonight and caught nine cod to 3 lbs under candle light

like all angling things have moved on since you left the fold, rods that snap are the new black,hook sizes are now so small i need a magnifying glass to bait up ,you need a beach shelter that looks like a pyramid but for some reason they call it an igloo? a headlight for night fishing that cost more than a months mortgage and a silly hat ! oh i forgot you started that one ! :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:
