Yeah i used to get them up in Sutton but i figured with sandymount so close it might be worth a look. its such a big area though so was hoping someone on the forum might know which part is best. i don't like raiding other anglers traps and rocks can be left turned over a lot out in sutton so thought it might be worth laying some ridge tiles in sandymount.

Don't bother wit the ridge tiles. They will cover too easy wit the sand. Cavity blocks will do the trick over beside the stream near the esb. Had some blocks out there a few year ago. they wil hav to be dug out every few weeks as the sand fills over them. Not a bad spot if ur lookin for enough bait just for urself. I hav often gathered enough for a weekend fishin when the traps are looked after. And probably best to put them out in the dark as the neighbours won't be too happy with a wall being built near the beach

Yeah i went down there this evening to have a look. Theres a muddy area which looks perfect at the north end of the strand on a bend on the poolbeg side. is that where you are talking about?

i attached the spot below cause i can never explain directions right.

I didn't get to stay long though. I brought my girlfriends s*** tsu for a walk with me and i thought she'd stay up near the rocks. i was so wrong ;( she ran into the thick mud got stuck and i had to pull her out. destroying both of us in the process. needless to say i won't be bringing the dog bait digging ever again ;)

Yes. If ye park at beach in front of the 2 chimneys and walk straight out. Just before stream it's muddy and u wil see some old buried blocks. That's the area and along the stream to the right. Put some in the stream near the rocks too. Let us know how ye get on

Will do guys thanks very much. I went down yesetrday evening to have a look around. found some pretty quickly but i didn't have a bucket so put them back. i leaned a few big rocks up against some small ones so hopefully these traps will yeild something tomorrow. found a few tyres closer in and moved the out beside the stream too.
